Save the Date for the Annual Fiesta 5k for ALS Research!

On Saturday, May 4, 2019, the Packard Center will host the annual Fiesta 5k for ALS Research!

Lace up your running shoes and get ready to run on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at the annual Fiesta 5k for ALS Research. The Packard Center’s signature event, which starts at Power Plant Live! in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, is right around the corner and registration will open in early January.   Last year, the Fiesta 5k welcomed more than 1,100 participants on 60 teams, raising over $200,000 — all in the name of ALS research.

The annual event serves both as a vital fundraiser for the Packard Center’s research programs and helps to bring together the ALS community in and around the Baltimore area.  “The Fiesta 5k is one of the Center's most important events," states Packard Director Emily Baxi.  "Not only is it vital to helping generate the resources we need to further our research mission, but it is also a fantastic way for us to unite the ALS community in our area. It show that donors to the Packard Center are truly our partners in collaboration.”

Companies and corporate sponsors also play an important part of race day.   Corporate sponsorship helps to defray vital race expenses and assist the Center in promoting the event to a larger audience.  This year’s corporate sponsors will benefit from a variety of visibility opportunities leading up to the race as well as on race day.  “The outpouring of support every May for this event is overwhelming,” notes Baxi.  “To be out there on race day, and to see the teams and runners arriving in their colorful shirts, everyone coming together for a shared purpose--it's really a great day.”
