Molecular mechanisms that maintain motor neuron function throughout life
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is characterized by defects in the survival or function of specialized neuronal cells called motor neurons. The research in this proposal focuses on identifying the molecular mechanisms that maintain motor neuron function throughout life. The insights gained from this project may provide novel entry points into the etiology, diagnosis or treatment of ALS.
